:-D

Obedience Training with Aurora

Here’s a short update on Aurora and how it’s going with her obedience training!
Aurora has been very motivated for training this spring and I’m really enjoying our training sessions; whether it’s obedience, agility or blood tracking! :-D
When it comes to the obedience training I’m currently focusing on details; like getting her to sit down at a perfect position, getting her to start at once on the Heel (and not lag behind), and getting a quick Down and Stay. We had a good start at the competitions this year with 153 points, and even getting points in every exercise! I got some points off for using my body to enforce the commands, so I will try to minimize that next time ;-)
In this video we work on the timing of the Jump exercise, the speed and the handing off the Dumbbell Retrieve, the Stand and the Down commands.

Sølvmerke i lydighet

Agility Training

Last weekend we went to an Agility introduction class, two days with lots of new information and opportunity to try out all the different obstacles that are used on an agility course! We wanted to check out if this type of training was any fun for the doxies and for us. Well, I think it was a blast and from the look of the doxies I’m pretty sure they liked it too! 8-)
The class was held in Maridalen just on the outskirts of Oslo, and the trainers were all members of Oslo og Omegn Dressurklubb. They did a great job and really got us interested in this dog sport.

Here’s Aurora trying out some of the obstacles at her first Agility training session!

Bicycle Trip - The Documentary!

Here it is - the long version of the bike trip with the Doxies! It was a lot of work putting together all those video clips from this trip, but finally it’s done. As for the Doxies, they really enjoyed this trip! The weather was good, not too hot and no rain! The gravel roads were good for biking and the paws didn’t get soar. This trip took place on the roads between Fefor and Fagerli, on August 6th, 2009. The Doxies are getting a little tired (and thirsty) at the end of the trip, and we had to make a few stops to cool down in some of the many creeks along the road! After all, they had been on their feet all day, including a lunch break where they saw the opportunity to run away and chase some sheep that strode along on a trail nearby! 8-)

I hope you enjoy watching this bicycle trip featuring Aurora and Frøya!
:-D
